SURA data for electrical engineers
The Kymdata project aims at creating conditions for using the product data in Sähkönumerot.fi service in electrical engineering
What kind of problem is the project trying to solve?
The project focuses on finding out whether the product data that adheres to the definition laid down in the previous KIRA-digi project called “Updating product databases to meet the needs of the HPAC and electricity sector” is available for the use in electrical design processes and how it can be best utilised in the design process.
Objective: SURA information for electrical engineers
The project aims at finding out how the product information defined in the previous project (SURA data) should be best transferred from the Sähkönumerot.fi service to the CADS Electric design software and how designers can use it effectively in the CADS software.
The project addresses the usability of the SURA data in the whole delivery chain.
What is done in this project?
An interface will be created for Sähkönumerot.fi that will allow the SURA data to be downloaded to design software. For CADS Electric design software, new functionalities will be developed for the use of SURA data in the design process. The project aims at finding out how the engineer can effectively use the available data in specifying and selecting the electric products used in a building and in producing the project-related documentation.
The actual pilot project focuses on studying other possible uses of SURA data and the possibility of creating more detailed and better quality planning material for other parties involved in the project (builders, contractors) using the new determinations.
What are the expected results of the experiment?
As a result of the project, electrical engineers will be able to use product data. An insight into sensible manners of using the product data in the construction process and the ways in which different parties in the delivery chain can use the information will have been formed.
Who benefits?
In the long run, all parties involved in a construction project will benefit from the results because the usage potential of the product data in the entire delivery chain is studied.
