Real time use of data produced by properties
The experiment run by Cozify combines smart property systems to traditional property management systems in real time using an IoT service bus. The objective is the optimal functioning and comfort of use of the property.
What kind of problem is the project trying to solve?
Increasing amounts of IoT technology solutions are being installed to properties in addition to older technical solutions as more and more devices are capable of connecting to the Internet independently. With the help of IoT technology, smart facilities provide information that can be used for adding to the comfort of use of a facility and optimising ventilation, lighting or heating, for example.
Many IoT solutions suffer from the silo effect, however, as they only focus on solving one single problem (e.g. optimising heating). Solutions that make use of data from various sources are only just being developed, and most of them concentrate on collecting measurement data to be analysed later. The reasons behind the relatively slow progress include both outdated operational methods and the challenges that outdated technical solutions pose.
Objective: All data from various property systems into one location
The main objective of this project is to develop and demonstrate a solution that integrates the old and new systems used in properties with the help of an IoT service bus. Data regarding the use of and conditions in a property is collected from various systems and further utilised in automating properties and services. All this will be done in real time.
The corner stone of the Cozify technology is a platform that integrates the systems and smart devices of different providers. The company has extensive experience in collecting, standardising and merging real-time IoT data. Basic technology and experience will be used and further developed in this project as well.
What is done in this project?
In the project, various property systems will be integrated in real time using an IoT service bus to promote the standardisation of data models and collaborative models. The solution will be demonstrated in a tangible manner with a pilot installation that integrates the reservation, use and control of the conditions of facilities into one seamless entity in the properties of our partners.
What are the expected results of the experiment?
1. The daily routines of the users of the facilities will be lighter, the conditions will promote the productivity of work, and the energy efficiency of the property will increase.
2. Operational models and interfaces for the efficient use of the service bus.
3. A pilot installation that verifies the real-time data and the possibilities of integrating old and new technology to create new services.
Who benefits?
The users and administrators of facilities, as well as actors who provide value-adding services to various properties that benefit from the integration of the data.
