Platform economy boosts the digitalisation in real estate and construction sector
The APInf experiment collects the open interfaces in the real estate and construction sector in one catalogue Both the API owners and API customers benefit from the API catalogue.
What kind of problem is the project trying to solve?
In the real estate and construction sector, application programming interfaces (APIs) are heterogeneous and hard to find, making it difficult for the program developers to find and use them.
Objective: API catalogue for the benefit of operators in the real estate and construction sector
The objective of the project is to organise the APIs into a common API marketplace where they can be managed by using API business tools.
What is done in this project?
The project uses API management to build a digital platform for the operators in the built environment and construction sector to try out. In collaboration, we enable the management of the APIs of different API owners. We are piloting the project with a few APIs that will serve as examples for other API products.
What are the expected results of the experiment?
Experiences of the use and benefits of real estate and construction sector APIs to the operators in the sector. We look forward to finding out what the API catalogue resulting from the project will look like, what the APIs will be like and how they will be used. The project provides information on where in the value chain the APIs are concentrated, that is, which areas of the real estate and construction sector are being digitalised most efficiently.
Who benefits?
The project gives the API owners practical experience of API business using managed APIs. For API customers, the experiment provides experience in using APIs and connects them to API suppliers.
