Combining 3D models of a building project with cartographic information and city data
The Vektor3 project creates a system in which the 3D models of a construction project can be combined with cartographic information and city models. With this system, collaboration between different operators and solving problems will become easier.
What kind of problem is the project trying to solve?
Constant collaboration is carried out in the real estate and construction sector between land use planning services, planning and design, maintenance and constructors.
Solving problems jointly in the different stages of the construction projects would be easier if the 3D models of construction projects could be combined with 3D models of cities and cartographic information from GISs.
Objective: combining the 3D models of a construction project with cartographic information and city models
The Vektor3 project creates a browser-based system for presenting in detail the 3D models of a construction project combined with open 3D models of cities and cartographic information from GISs. GIS (geographic information system) is a system in which geographic information can be digitally produced and presented.
The system developed in the project also contains a programmable interface that provides land use planning services, planning and design, maintenance, constructors and other operators in the sector an entirely new way of solving problems together in the different stages of the building's life cycle.
The system has already been trialled by a partner company of the project since November 2017 and the intention is to expand its use. The aim of the project is to make the system ready for production.
Who benefits?
Different operators in the real estate and construction sector, land use planning services, maintenance services and constructors.
